I Blame The Parents
In Greek Mythology, Hephaestus is the god of fire and a god of the underworld. In Roman mythology he is known as Vulcan. Hephaestus was the son of Jupiter and Juno. It is said that he is the only god to be ugly and deformed. Stories of how he became deformed are varied. Some say that Juno, his mother, was upset at having such an ugly child and threw him from Mount Olympus into the sea, thus breaking his legs. Others say that his father, Jupiter, and mother, Juno, got into an argument and as a result threw Hephaestus from Mount Olympus.
Hephaestus was the blacksmith of the gods. When Hephaestus got angry he would heat up his furnace until the volcanoes would erupt. As he works, sparks and flames would fly out of the volcanoes that he works in.
